My name is Captain Martin Fogel and I have been involved in boating for 56 years. I grew up on a canal on the Atlantic Ocean and was raised on power boats and the Power Squadron. In my teens, I discovered sailing and eventually taught it on a lake to children of elementary through high school grades. I also taught water skiing and small boat handling. By the time I was 28 years old, I relocated to California after college and moved aboard my own boat. I have been living aboard my boats since and currently live aboard my Panda 38 cutter sailboat, Orion.

I have always been an oceanographic teacher of sorts. I have taught many people how to use their boats, be it sail or power, or a Sabot, a 51 foot full-keeled yawl or a 42 foot cabin cruiser. I have been involved in the California school system's Sea Afloat oceanographic project, taking children out to sea and teaching them about the ocean, it's inhabitants and the boats they were on. I have taught sailors how to better dock their boats and new boat owners how to use their boats.

I have delivered boats from Hawaii and to Mexico and many points in between. I am an above and underwater photographer and video photographer. I am a U.S. Coast Guard Master Captain. Boating is my lifestyle and my history. Let me help make it part of yours!
